Understanding the Push-Pull Model:
Rackham identified two fundamental communication styles:

The key lies in finding the right balance. Rackham suggests a “Push-Pull” approach:

Finding the right balance also involves, recognising when we may be Shutting Out, Defending or Attacking (Red) in our communication styles. Rackham’s model highlights these areas for us to consciously try to void using these.
